Packard1899
I was hearing some talk that AACA Hershey is only scheduled to 2025. I hope that is only a horrible rumor and not true. Can anyone confirm?
Steve Moskowitz
BAD rumor as most of them are. Please read below as the two dates seem to have caused a lot of angst: The Evolution of the Fall Meet Wooden Nickel The wooden nickel changed in 2023. It evolved from displaying the next four Fall Meet dates to displaying the next two Fall Meet dates. Changes to the wooden nickel is no a new concept. In 2022, the wooden nickels went from four future dates to three dates. Prior to 2022, the wooden nickels had four years of up-coming Fall Meet dates. Why does the wooden nickel change? It’s basically one of the “executive” decisions that the Fall Meet Chairman makes. This year, the Fall Meet Chairman decided the wooden nickels would have two lines of dates to make it easier for aging eyes to read. Will the wooden nickel change again? It’s a possibility. As Hershey Region reviews previous Fall Meet items and plans changes that will improve the visitors experience, the wooden nickel and other aspects of the Fall Meet will come under review and face the possibility of change. 4
joe_padavano
Steve, while I don't subscribe to any conspiracy theories and do not listen to rumors, the explanation you provided unfortunately doesn't really help. In 2021 the Nickel listed four dates, with the last one being 2025. In 2022 the nickel was changed to three dates with the last one being 2025. This year it was changed to two dates with the last one being 2025. You can understand how some might view that as a "sign". 😉
Steve Moskowitz
Joe, I always understand the some people love to put two and two together and come up with 5. Human nature but the explanation is correct and came from the fall meet chairman and will be in our publications. We do not have a forever contract with HE&R but soon there will be a meeting to continue the extension of the current contract. It has been done this way forever. Accept the explanation or not but the FACT is that there is no plan for "Hershey" to be discontinued after 2025 or for that matter any subsequent year. Rumors have been going on for years and each time proven false. 5
Walt G
It is only a few days after the "Grand Experience" of Hershey for 2023 has ended and leaves us with the memories of another event in life to let us cope with the upcoming winter, world chaos , politics etc. memories of things that make us happy and content. Give AACA a chance to get the future of Hershey - dates , information etc IN PRINT IN THE MAGAZINE as Steve mentions. If you don't get the publications because you do not belong to AACA then JOIN- the cost of the yearly dues is worth the great magazine that you get multi times during the year. This amazing club we have accommodates so many people who do not belong to it- many who are reading this now because it is "FREE".
