nat
My pressure gauge had been working but is now pegged on 4 PSI. I can bring it back to zero with vacuum but it springs back when the suction is removed. Does anyone know if there's a spring inside the gauge that could have come off or broken, and/or if repair attempts are ever successful? I may take you up on it if I can't find one in this hemisphere. Then I'll have a valid excuse for going to Australia. I removed and dissasembled the crusty gauge from my parts carcass. It does have an itty bitty copper clock spring that, (appears to), bring the pointer back to zero. it's too delicate a job for my vision and meathooks. 22touring
The oil pressure gauge on my car seems to be stuck at about 1 lb. after I re-installed it. I'm hoping it will go down to zero again at rest after I start the engine.
dodge28
If the oil gauge was removed and re installed the chances are air is stuck in the system . Try cracking the line while the engine is running , just as you would do bleeding the brakes. I am not sure if it will work but I suspect may. If it does please come back on line and let us know.
