As cool as a 50s Oldsmobile gets, but good lord that needs a lot of work. I think it can safely be said this hasn't always been a California car.

 

For ROI the 49 woodie wagon at $14k was a better deal.

I do love the  Oldsmobile and this is my favorite year. I plan to own a '57 Olds before I die. That said, if this car was available 12 years ago, I would be dumb enough to buy this car. I say dumb enough as at that time I had no idea of the cost and time it would take to restore this car. The restoration of my Buick has taught me when something looks "good from afar, but far from good" you have to walk away. Very sad as this would be a  beautiful car if it had been treated better.

Kind of looks like the rocker panel molding on the driver's side is keeping the car from collapsing in the middle!

If this car is from northern California in the mountains I'd say the condition is about right. It looks like it's been parked under evergreens for a long time.
