Can anyone ID this steering box? the guy selling wasn't sure but thought it may be Hudson? Fordy Posted May 27, 2023 Share Posted May 27, 2023 Box looks to me as it may be a "Jaycox" unit. Hupp used them up to 1924 when GM bought the company (it eventually became Saginaw gear Co). A bracket and small gear that fits on the bottom of the steering column for a gear driven light switch, I will take pictures tomorrow to post , but can anyone confirm if Studebaker had a gear driven light switch at the bottom of the steering column that was operated from a control lever in the middle of the steering wheel, ?? thanks Edited June 15, 2023 by viv w Added photo (see edit history) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The levers, gears , tubes , switch mounting bracket, plus a switch (I bought from another source) that will fit the bracket are heading back to the states for a new owner. The steering box (or the parts inside) and steering wheel are available for sale, if you are desperate enough to pay the freight from Zimbabwe.
