1918 (?) Oldsmobile roadster - $15,000

An interesting car! The source I have doesn't list a a 4 cylinder for 1918.

Rare 1918 Oldsmobile convertible. Been in storage over 35 years. Runs good all original except electric fuel pump. Will need tires to be road worthy. 15K  Text: (480) 599-5546

No 4 cylinder in 18.  Only 6 and V-8's

Would you guess earlier or later. Seems like there's just a couple of years when Olds didn't make a 4cyl. the only thing I know about them is that 3 port head was used by hot rodders on both Chevys and (with an adapter) Fords.

The drum headlights, pistol grip style of parking brake, and the later style of ignition switch indicate this is a 1923 Oldsmobile. In the ad on Craigslist when I zoom in on the oil pressure gauge it looks to only go to 12 PSI which would indicate a 4 cylinder engine (hybrid splash and pressure). The V8s with full pressure oiling have a gauge that maxes out at 30PSI. I recall seeing this posted on Facebook as well where the marque expert Mark Santos also identified the car as a 4 cylinder (Model 43-AR).

@dibarlaw That 1922 Oldsmobile looks familiar! 🙂 Thank you for the compliment! For reference, that is a V8 car (1922 Model 47-T)

Cheers,

Rusty:

I wish we had met. That is our red KIA Rondo next to your car. We participated in the Lansing to Dearborn run as passengers in Gary VanDyken's 1913 Buick and Joe Tonnietto's 1910 Buick.

Seeing your Olds was a great morning send off for our trip back to PA.

I took one more photo. I always like to compare other GM cars of the period to my 1925 Buick products.
