IMO 1956 was the high point for Packard, beautiful cars. That said you often see the four door models that are well taken care of for 15k to 20k. I believe that the seller is trying to get all of his money back on the restoration. I could be wrong, but I hope to have one of these cars some day and I can't see 40k.

Probably the best looking Postwar Packard IMO.  I prefer the Clipper rear end to the treatment on Senior Packard models.  As well as the last "real" Packard.  I would have reversed the paint colors myself.   White for the center band.  Appears nicely and fairly tastefully done but all incorrect as stated.  Price is "pie in the sky".  A nice original driver '56 400 coupe (a higher model) just sold in Mass at a classic car dealer for under 10k.  That's around what this car is probably worth.
