1941 Lincoln Continental coupe close to Detroit $18500 Canadian

Wow. Seems reasonable even if all one did was park it in a corner and enjoy that pure early design.

The price gap between these and the 42, 46 -48 versions really seems to have closed for both open, closed and NOM versions, the 3 classes I mentally tie to these caes.

Steve:

The 1940-'41 Continentals are the purest versions of E.T. Gregoire's and Edsel Ford's visions of a 'continental' design.  The long-hood/short-deck proportions, intimate passenger compartment, clean, minimal chrome trim create the sterling design they are.  The 1942 and 1946-'48 restyle was done to satisfy the current horizontal design trend, however contrary it was to the original concept.  While still attractive in the context of the era, they lack the purity of the original.   The disappointing performance reputation of the Series H V-12 will always hold these Continentals down.
