I can not beleive nobody thought of the white jeep Daisy Duke drove in the Dukes of Hazzard or the Ford Torino from Starsky and Hutch. I saw dozens of both of these on the road for years after the shows went into reruns forever.

And did anyone think of the truck from the Waltons? I have not seen the show in a lot of years and can't tell you what make it was now but I always wanted a truck like that. Guess that's why I like the Indiana so much.

Teamsternip, You're probably right about me, but you guys remember TV shows and cars that I have forgot all about. Senility is setting in I guess. I did notice something about the old TV show cars. They all had automatics and were wide open when leaving the curb. I always thought the Thunderbird on 77 Sunset Strip was cool at the time. Old Wayne

Hey Wayne, speaking of automatics, I love the scenes when people are driving along and the crews camera is mounted on the hood and the shift is up in park. Does anyone remember M-Squad, with Lee Marvin's 57 Ford 2 dr.post?

As I remember, My Mother The Car was one of my favorite TV that year, but then I was only 9 years old. I've been hooked on old cars ever since.

I think the Walton's truck was a '28 or '29 Ford "AA"; probably a 1-ton, and it had what they used to call an "express" or grain-body.

The wagon was a '39 or '40 Plymouth.

Remember the very first episode- "The Homecoming" ? John-boy mentions that he "used to drive his daddy's Dee-So-to" before he was of legal age....

That was the pilot where Patricia Neal played Olivia Walton....

Once again - thanks for all the suggestions of Star Cars. I will adding many to the Junior AACA web page in the near future. Be sure to check to see if your car got added.

Although it doesn't exactly fit the definition of a 'Star Car', no one mentioned their favorite car commercial. My facorite is a VW commercial that was shown sometime in the 60s. It was the one that answered the question "Have you ever wondered how the man that drives the snow plow drives to the snow plow?" I found a copy on the Houston VW club web page.

Do you have a favorite!

Check out the street scenes in any of the old tv series or movies & you'll pick out hundreds of the old greats, some of the set cars from 'Happy days'! smile.gifcool.gif

RW....This doesn't exactly relate to the post you made; however, I own a 1928 Lincoln 7 passenger sedan that was used in a gangster movie probably shot in the 70's or 80's, that had Lester Maddox (former gov. of Ga.) in it. He played the govenor of Arkansas? I saw part of this movie and glimpsed my car once; unfortunately, I was not able to get the movie name. My car is Maroon with Black fenders. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Nice work Judy. That "snowplow driver" VW Beetle commercial is also one of my favorites. I've also always liked the VW Fastback commercial that features the young Dustin Hoffman ("Graduate"-era, I'd estimate), and recently received a home-made CD with a copy of it on the disk, so if you ever would like a copy...

All my modern "wintertime" vehicles were out of commission last week, so I had to pull our old '70 VW Squareback out of the garage and commute with it for most of the week. Car ran great, but the I-95 tailgaters sure were scary to drive with... I tried snapping a couple shots of myself driving the car, and after taking a ton of them, pretty much only came up with one semi-presentable, which I'll try to attach herewith (yes, I did notice the horn button's upside down--d'oh!...

Best to everyone, and remember, Spring's on it's way...

That was the "Deluxe Family Truckster". Carl
