May be 25 years ago I bought a set of tires and tubes for my 32 Plymouth at Hershey   did not mount them till three years ago       I know the advise from others is negative with stuff that old  stored in dry basement did not seem dry rotted    when the job was done two would not hold air     I changed the valve core a few times and and it worked   last summer another on sprung a leak    doint know where     the tires worked fine

25 year old tires not holding air shouldn't be a surprise, regardless of how they're stored. Rubber is perishable. Even if I keep a gallon of milk in my refrigerator under ideal conditions, eventually it's going to turn into cottage cheese.
