POSSIBLE TRADES UP OR DOWN ON ANYTHING THAT HAS INSTANT VALUE! NO MOTORCYCLES!!! VERY NICE SURVIVOR! Awesome big fin old Mopar that runs and drives perfectly and looks awesome! 1959 Chrysler New Yorker with 57k original miles and it's original giant 413 engine with amazing torque and push button shifting transmission. The transmission shifts perfectly and is a 3 speed automatic. This car is pretty fast, let me tell you! It has power steering, original radio (orig not working), reverse lights, interior lights and many other options. The trunk is completely original along with the interior and they are both in great shape. The trunk has the original carpet and cardboard surround along with the original spare and jack! The drivers seat is worn under that cushion you see in the pictures and should be replaced. The underside is very solid with no major issues and still has some of the original undercoating in place. Every light works except one side of the reverse lights, passenger side. This is a car that really turns heads! The paint is in very nice condition and is very straight. Look at the clouds reflection on the trunk lid in one of the pictures! The chrome is original and is very nice around the windows and the moldings but bumpers are starting to show their age but are still in good driver shape. You need to be close to them to see the age but they have no rust or rot anywhere! Some one will buy this car and just drive it everywhere as it needs pretty much nothing and will pass inspection anywhere. CALLS ONLY BETWEEN 9AM AND 9PM PLEASE! PHONE CALLS ONLY! Don't ask why CL won't let me NOT allow emails anymore but I NEVER check emails....so please don't bother sending me emails please. Thanks. John_S_in_Penna
The subject car looks dignified in solid black. To my eye, its sweeping side molding looks cleaner than the "kinked" side molding of some '59 Chryslers:

The 55er
Impressive car but it won't pass any state inspections with those holes in the tailpipes. That jet plane ornament on top of the hood shouldn't be there on a 59 New Yorker. This car was at the 2021 Fall Carlisle Auction but I don't know if it sold or not.
kingrudy
Beautiful car, not sure how the front seat repair could be accomplished with that pattern. Still a very pretty car.

I wouldn't be surprised if SMS Auto Fabrics has the correct material for replacement. I have read that in the late 1950's, some Chrysler Corp. seat fabrics wore very poorly. In an interview with a past executive, he even admitted that fact. Do any of our experts know whether replacements for those are available, and whether the replacements are better made?
supercub
This car is so long it may be a challenge to parallel park. The style is great though, streamlined and refined. The seats would look better reupholstered in a plain style instead of the printed stuff.
