plymouthcranbrook
I guess the price is not too bad but the pictures really need to be more complete. A little rust is as well all know often the precursor to a lot of rust. Plus need under side and engine photos. I think that would be a 4.1 correct? And weren't they problematic? Good to see the jacking instructions are still there. Edited October 7, 2021 by plymouthcranbrook (see edit history)
5219
Not a 4.1. That came in 1982. 1981 was the V8, 6, 4 version of the 368 cast iron V-8. A strong engine. If the the multi cylinder setup was a problem, you could disengage it. The rust would concern me, too.

John_S_in_Penna
It's certainly a special-order color, and would be an interesting conversation starter at shows. I really enjoy things that are different. Whether from Mary Kay cosmetics or not, it's probably one of just a few surviving in this color.

The Dealer's website has 70 photographs also showing the interior, engine bay and underside. It also lists the engine as a 4.1 Liter V6. My guess is that the V6 isn't powerful enough to really move this 3,801 lb boat. 5219
I don't think I have ever seen one of those with the V-6. I knew that they offered them. The 4.1 liter V-6, I believe, was sourced from Buick. It was certainly a better engine that the dreaded HT 4100 V-8, but it would be grossly inadequate to the demands of pulling around a 1981 Coupe De Ville. Between that engine and the rust, a good car to stay away from.

Having worked on a few of those back in the day I can confirm your suspicions. It wasn't just slow, it was ludicrous. Also, if that behemoth only weighs 3801 pounds I'll eat my hat.

The base coupe is 3801 lbs. The DeVille weighs 4016, a lot of weight for a 125 HP V6 to motivate. That's a worse power-to-weight ratio than my '37 LaSalle, that doesn't have AC or power-assist pumps to deal with.
