TexRiv_63
Not really that large, could be a generic replacement for many vehicles.

I'm comparing it to the Hudson and Essex ones that came with it, it's twice the size. You see a lot more of them then I do, it's the biggest screw on I've seen.
TexRiv_63
More than the size, the fact it is plated brass is more unique for a generic cap, most were cheaply made from stamped aluminum.
roysboystoys
Looks similar to Chrysler products , 29-30 era Desoto model K The download didn't work
Stude17
Could it be a radiator cap?

keiser31
Similar to a lot of caps. I think the cap in question is for a truck as mentioned earlier. Those were often plain and without a logo. Here is a similar 1931 Dodge Brothers cap.... roysboystoys
Thanks for all the input. Guess I'll settle for 29-30 era , possibly aftermarket, possibly truck. I'll keep looking at photos from that era.
Hubcap-collector
That cap is definitely built the same as late 1920’s Chrysler caps but it seems to be larger like the Imperial ones. I recently found a Chrysler stamped one that is the same size as an Imperial one that I have never seen. Usually if they are aftermarket, they are made of aluminum not brass. I have seen a few Fargo trucks from the era with Dodge style caps that are also blank so it is possible that this could be from an export model built by Chrysler. Here are a few pictures of the Chrysler ones I have showing the larger size and the Imperial version that is also the same size as yours.
roysboystoys
Thanks for the input, looked close to Chrysler to my eyes. The cap has a new owner, not stated if he knows the application.

No mention, but it looks like several 27-28 fire trucks used a similar cap. Thanks for the input
