83 Riviera Conv.

Undesided

Recommended Posts

Where might I find someone with knowledge on a 1983 Riviera Convertible?

My 83 top works fine EXCEPT for the latching aspect, it appears to pull to the left

[ passenger side ] & is somewhat difficult to get latched.

I'm hoping someone out there can tell me if there is a adjustment or something

I should check on.

Thank You & Stay Healthy, ........... Dan NW MO.

Dan, I think you'll get the best answers if you

also post your query in the specific "Riviera"

section of the forum.  Members of the Riviera

Owners' Association have excellent knowledge

and frequent that category.  They might not

see it here.

All the best to you.  Riviera convertibles are

beautifully styled cars.

I have an '86 Park Ave convertible with a similar top bow and latch. You may be a little low on fluid and not getting enough to one of the rams. Check the level in the reservoir. Mine has come up short of the header at times. You can also lightly lubricate the top joints with light oil.

I know I don't actuate mine enough. I put it down about 3 weeks ago and unless something out of the ordinary comes up the top will be down until November now.

Google Buick Riviera Converible and look for a site dedicated to this generation convertible. Lots of cool history.  If I remember correctly, Buick robbed the Pontiac Sunbird convertible parts bin for the latches.
