Trying to get the orientation of this picture.  Appears to be drivers side front but the "hub" is throwing me off.  How could there not be a spindle?

It is the drivers side. I just grabbed a rotor out of the box to test fit the brake calipers and brackets  I have a C4 front hub and the larger C6 brake package

I was being a wise-ass because the work you're doing is really well-done and it will be hard to keep those shiny A-arms clean once you grease those ball joints and hit the road.  I can't wait to see the final product (as are you, I'm sure)...  ;)

EmTee. Thanks, I was just going to leave the a-arms brushed originally but after I started to remove the casting seams I started to get carried away. Plus I figured this would be a good bit of practice sanding and buffing before I start to attack the 1/4 mile of stainless on this car.

Took the rear end apart last weekend. Funny this $30 dollar special is out of a 67 Impala and has a pristine 3.07:1 gear in it. Perfect!!  Just need seals gaskets and bearings and some paint

Are you using the whole rear end from the Impala?

Well it is painted. I am pretty happy with it. This has been quite the transformation from the stock frame. I am looking forward to hanging all of the suspension on it next. I’m going to try to get the rear end primed and painted this weekend and get the bearings, seals, and gaskets so I can get it assembled back together.

Finally settled on the color of the car. Mazda’s Soul Red Crystal. Pay no mind the the quarter panel I still need to do a lot of work on it but my test spray out looks fantastic. It looks like two different colors between sun and shop lights.

So last week I started getting my parts I intended to reuse in the motor and found that the original oil pump was destroyed. The idler shaft and gear were eating themselves as well as the housing. After some research and a tech post from Centerville auto I found with some simple block modifications you can use a 65-66 oil pump in the 364. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will get my new camshaft and timing gear set so we can assemble the short block.
