jensenracing77
If people here are interested I will post about my restoration of a 1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire. I got the car in 2015, it had sit in a garage in Chicago since 1974, the same year I was born. Has 44,000 miles on it. I got it running and driving and put about 200 miles on the car till I took it apart for the restoration in July of 2019. I will start adding pictures over the next couple days of the process but I will start with the video that Ryan Brutt made when it was drug from the garage it was sitting in all these years.

jensenracing77
The turbo system was still intact thank goodness. Most were converted to 4 bbl and no turbo.

jensenracing77
I had rebuilt another red turbo for it that was only used for a short time. I am going with the red turbo for the restoration though. Some 62 Jetfire had red ones and others were silver. All 63 Jetfire were silver turbos. jensenracing77
Had to make a new pin for the BW shifter to tighten it up a little. That and the original pin has a hairline crack in it.

There were 3765 total Jetfire cars made in 1962 and only 203 were 4 speed. This is the only known factory 4 speed left. There was another one but sadly it burned up in a forest fire.

8E45E
I hope you bench-test that turbocharger before installation for balance before installing in the car!! Craig
jensenracing77
They do not make the original style stamps for these years so I had to have some made. Mine do not look as good as the originals but they are close. Even the originals were not nice. It was just some inspector placing his mark, he was not making a show car so I am ok with the quality of my stamps.
