  1. I no longer have the 70. The 62 is my wifes car.
  2. Now that is cool!!!! Outside of anything Oldsmobile, that car is my number one favorite car of all times. To this day I have yet to see one in person but I should be in the next couple months.
  3. eBay has become a joke to sell on. I do still buy there now and then but sure is not the same. I agree, searching for stuff brings all kinds of stuff for unrelated models. We need a new platform to sell on. I mostly sell on Facebook these days but it is FILLED with fraud and you have to be careful
  4. This is a complicated topic because there are to many variations of why people buy old cars. If someone is looking for a common old car like a standard Cutlass, Camaro, or Mustang, they are all over the place all across the country. Typically can find a nice one local and the local market may be different than somewhere else in the country. If you are looking for a rare car or a very high end specialty then you had better be looking nation wide and that market is pretty consistent across the country because of what it is you are looking for. On another note, People like me, I have to consider every aspect of a car before buying it and that includes getting it home. I simply can not afford this hobby and only have so much money to play with. I have to consider the price, getting it home, what I need to put into it and what the final value will be. I enjoy restoring cars as much or more than driving the finished product so I have to get it at a price that I will not lose money when I am moving to the next project. If a car is worth it and I am safe to not loose money I don't try to talk someone down. If it is to high for me and been on the market for a good while and not moving, I will toss in all the cards to get it for the right price. Yes, I have even tossed in the "I have to get it home" factor a few times but I am also not buying from a dealer or professional. When the car has been on the market for a while it is because nobody wants it or it is over priced or both. That is when I move in and use anything that works and if it don't work I walk. There are so many aspects to this but all of it is fun. It would be more fun if I could keep all my cars and not have to sell them.
  5. I wanted to say thank you to whoever decided to give my cars article the M.J.Duryea Memorial Cup award!
  6. Just found this thread. This is incredible! It is going to take me days to look through this thread. Fantastic work!
  7. I know this is really old but I have a 1961 standard wheel from an F-85 if you are still looking.
  8. There is one of these down the road from me in a barn. Has 45,000 miles. It is actually a very solid car and runs and drives still. They want far to much for it though.
  9. The older I get the younger 50 looks. I was never into the pre war stuff but starting to take an interest now. I really like some stuff from the teens.
  10. It is best to send me an email if I don't get back to you within a day. jensenracing77@yahoo.com
  11. Part number 3942893. I am told they are for the 1969 GMC Handi-Van but I have no way to look it up myself. I am in Brazil Indiana and only take a check or pay pal friends and family. If you are uncomfortable with that I will ship first and you pay me after you get them. I have had them for many years and just want to get them to the right hands if those hands exist. $25 shipped to your door in the USA.
  12. I have several on that list. Sadly, most them then can't possible happen. First on the list would be a 1911 Oldsmobile Limited. This picture is from the GM Heritage collection. Another would be the Chrysler Turbine. Also ANYTHING steam powered that was already operational. Another that would maybe get me ran out of here is an Ariel Atom 4
  13. I would be interested in most anything NOS for the 61-63 Olds Cutlass and Jetfire. There are some parts like neutral safety switches that are a dime a dozen but others that are hard to find. Let me know what you have and we can go from there. Also interested in anything specific to the turbocharged Jetfire model. Parts cars would need to be somewhat close to Indiana. Lower back glass trim and rocker molding for 1962 I am looking for but must be as near mint as possible. If I do not respond here quick feel free to send me an email. jensenracing77@yahoo.com Picture of my car for attention
  14. Do you happen to have any more Jetfire parts? I was following the turbo on eBay but I already have several of those. I would be interested in most anything. Specific valves to the turbo system especially.
  15. My Great Great Grandparents were Moller's and owned a few hundred acres on Moller road North of Indianapolis all through the early 1900's, they owned a dairy farm and delivered milk. Later my great grandmother married a Jensen and had a gas station/store on Moller road (was not called Moller road then). They seamed to have done ok through the depression. They had this gas station and a large farm till the government took their land under some kind of eminent domain and moved to Clay County where many of us still live. Maybe I should apply for some kind of "reparations" lol. This is the gas station my Great Grandparents owned. My grandfather and great uncle are the kids.
  16. The antique tractor market is even worse. My grandfather had a 1928 Huber HK. I believe the largest hand crank tractor ever built and boy was it tough to crank... 20 or so years ago he was offered $20K for it. about 3 years ago he asked me to sell it for him and wanted to get $20K for it. I did not have the heart to tell him it was a $7000 tractor now. It never sold and my uncle has it now. It may work out for me that the older cars are coming down in price because we are eventually going to get into that market. We would actually like to get back into the teens more than 30's and 40's but most of that stuff is still out of my reach.
  17. I have said this for year. Well, not just cars but parts cars and any everything. I can't afford this hobby so I have to make side deals and part out cars to fund my own cars. I learned years ago that the final price is not going to change much if any so the up front cost is where the deal is made.
  18. Glad to help. I picked up a couple more parts cars also. A 63 convertible and a 61 f-85 so if you need anything else, I may have it. I will not be able to pull parts for another month or two though.
  19. This is all I found but I am almost sure I have the final production report someplace. Not sure it really has any better information though.
  20. I thought the 1970 final production figures broke down the 4 speeds? It would not brake it down to the specific engine with 4 speed. It would also not brake it down to specifics like Rallye 350 because it was just a CUtlass. I had these records and need to see if I can find them. I just can't remember how deep the brake down was. I have the 62 and 63 f-85 production reports and brakes down the 4 speed to specific models but there was only one engine available for each model.
  21. Before the internet, my buddy and I drove from Indiana to Long Island NY to get a Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. It was listed as "no disappointments" in a magazine stand cars for sale publication. We called him and he mailed us pictures of the car and it looked new off the showroom floor. We drive all the way there thinking we were getting a great deal. When we got there we found a total pile of junk. He admitted to us that he sent us pictures of the car when he bought it new and not of the car now... This would have been mid 90's
  22. I just realized I did not update this thread. Things changed at the very last minute for this car. I was loading it up to take it back to the guy I got it from and he called me. He had decided it was best if he didn't buy it back. He felt really bad about it but I assured him it was no problem at all and that I would have no problem selling it. He even offered to cover my time of planning for the trip to his place. I really like the guy and would never even think of doing that. I ended up selling the car to a guy in Washington state and drove from Indiana to the West side of South Dakota to meet him and deliver the car. My wife and I spent the rest of that week in the area of Mt Rushmore and the fantastic drives around the area. The guy that ended up with the car is going to drive it for a couple years and then do a full restoration on it. It is amazing to me the places that the Oldsmobile and car hobby has taken us. Just wish I had the funds to do more restorations.
