padgett
Do not want to unplug, is easy to smoke/warp the rear disks with a dragging brake.
Ronnie
I think three different things can turn on that red light. Low brake pressure, (yellow ABS light should be on too), parking brake switch, and low brake fluid switch. It's likely to be the parking brake switch as you say but to know for sure go into onboard diagnostics and look at BCM inputs BI18, BI21 and BI22 to tell for sure which one is causing the light to come on. rogold99
You might try pulling up on the parking brake pedal to see if that turns the light off.
Barney Eaton
It is pretty easy to unplug the parking brake switch connector When the park brake is set, it closes the contacts and grounds the wire. If unplugged, it cannot be grounded so the RED BRAKE light would not be lit by the parking brake. You would then look for another reason it is on.
