Thank you, FinSeeker, the MoPar hits just keep coming!  Another gorgeous original Highlander interior, this time in a hemi-powered New Yorker, all for $11K?  Too bad the cute dog doesn't come with the deal! 😄

I had one of these (but not the Highlander colors) - it was really comfortable and ate up the road!  The Deluxe model window crank handles have knobs that flip up out of the way, and it has a padded 'safety' dash.

Just one hits all the buttons. I had a 1954 New Yorker Newport. While this one is a four-door a person could really enjoy the nostalgia of the 50s in this car.

As others have pointed out this one has the plaid interior what was that called?  The red paint is not a distraction as others have noted but one needs to look at this one carefully photos often lie.

When you go back to buy a car from this era you’re basically buying nostalgia you’re buying the concept of going back in time and just enjoying the moment when you’re driving the car or going to the drive-in cruise night.

It was the "Highlander" interior--probably named after

Scotch plaids from the highlands of Scotland.

They also had a "Navajo" interior in this era, made to

emulate a Navajo Indian blanket.  I've seen these in

catalogues, but never in real life.  They must be rare.

I think the hook was the fact that the Chrysler plant was in Highland Park, Michigan.

I'm generally not crazy about large cars being painted red, but that seems to work for some reason. The color coordinated interior helps make it work, I guess. Thanks for posting.

And it's not a watered down or soft red, either. It is a bright, bold fire truck red with gold ornamentation.  Kind of reminds me of the Christmas holidays
