I am making this posting with the permission of "Dorset Boy" one of our fellow antique truck and military vehicle enthusiasts from Great Britain.  He and some compatriots have several WW1 military vehicles that does include a Locmobile and also an unrestored Riker.  The dedication shown by these fellows keeps alive our interest in WW1 vehicles and also the very personal way that WW1 affected the UK and those living on the continent.  Enjoy this shared information and maybe more interest in early commercial vehicles.....including Locomobile and Riker.

Thanks Dorset Boy.....

Al

So last weekend , Rowlie, myself and my daughter Mollie went back to Ypres Belguim for the official inauguration of the Brothers in Arms memorial.

As some know we were asked back in April  to deliver the bronze statue of the brothers through the Menin gate and on to its final destination which was a huge honour and something in which we were only to pleased to help out in any way we could.

The Liberty is still inBelguim until November when we hope to finally drive her back to the U.K. and home again.

A few photos of us in April and also last weekend .

The Liberty literally started first pull of the handle after 6 months left idle and ran as ever faultlessly.

For more information please look up Brothers in Arms on either Facebook or Google and the amazing story of the Hunter brothers can be found.

I have studied a bit regarding the 1917 Riker worm drive truck sales literature currently for sale on EBAY.  Riker was quite a truck, muscular for sure.  If you have a Riker truck, this piece of literature would sure be a nice addition to you collection!  If I had truck pieces, I would certainly be on this EBAY auction.

Al I bought a Locomobile / Riker truck portfolio at Hershey this year in spectacularly great condition.  I’ve been impressed by Locomobile autos and knew nothing about the Locomobile trucks and subsequent Riker trucks in the WW1 era.  My specific interest is in 1935-1942 Art Deco streamlined fuel tanker trucks.  I thought I would post all of the documents from this portfolio following this post.  Some of it may be the same as what you spotted on eBay but hopefully some of it will be new…
