scott12180
The photo shows a dirty-greasy type of stain on brown wool broadcloth upholstery of a '32 Packard. Any suggestions on how to remove it? Any chemical or other process which would even lighten it without making it worse? I feel terrible because I probably did it, as careful as I am. As they say, sh*t happens. And it did. --Luke

54vicky
I agree use plenty of clean white rags.wet cloth with lighter fluid and gently dab spot.turn cloth often try not to use same spot on cloth more than one dab or you risk making it worse.once clean use a carpet upholstery cleaner to aid in removing smell.patience is the key.try vacuuming after dampening rather than dabbing dry same thing for upholstery cleaner Edited September 24, 2018 by 54vicky spelling (see edit history)
Spinneyhill
Be careful and sparing with solvents. They can spread the stain if it dissolves, leaving a large less intense stain to remove.
