AACA Library
What is it? Identify that car! We recently received a massive collection of prewar car photographs. We are equipped to identify cars in photographs. Due to the volume of unidentified images, we decided to try something new….and something that is hopefully fun for you! Do you think you have what it takes to ID the vehicle(s) in the image? If so, please give us the make and model year and, whenever possible, the reasons why you believe your identification is correct. Some vehicles will be easier to identify than others, but we will share them all with you regardless. After we receive some guesses, we will check our available resources to see how you did. Good luck! There is an inscription on the back of the photo that indicates that this image was taken in Sabino Canyon near Tucson, Arizona. stakeside
Looks like early 20’s Dodge Bros screenside.
nzcarnerd
The early Dodges had a straight line across the base of the windshield, but I found this one dated as 1925.
nzcarnerd
In the mystery photo the car on the right with the balloon tyres - maybe a Cadillac?

A rethink on this one now that I have had a better look. It is a 1925 Dodge.
Spinneyhill
In those days it would still be a Dodge Brothers!

I know they had Dodge Brothers on the radiator badge but most people just call them Dodges. There was a long period from when the brothers died to Chrysler buying the company in 1928 but just when the badge changed i don't know. Whoever was running things in the period just before the Chrysler takeover was making changes anyway - new six cylinder models etc, which continued until about 1930. stakeside
The “Dodge Brothers” name was carried on trucks into late 30’s which was well after Chrysler takeover. They chose to carry name because of marketing strength associated with the original name.
keiser31
The name Dodge Brothers was used from 1914 thru 1938. The 1939 and later were just Dodge.
mhocker
Thanks, guys! It's definitely a Dodge Screenside and, after looking through the Crestline book and our literature, I came up with a model year of 1923.
