JACK M
You could try New Port Engineering. (I am sure they would show up on google) Might only be 12 volts though.
GaryBudd
Anyone have a drawing of the layout and parts needed for windshield wipers on 29'DeSoto K?
richasco
Gary, I'll go out in the morning and get you some pictures of the setup on my Roadster. I just checked the parts manual and the Roadster has different part numbers compared to the closed cars, but I'd bet that they are similar.
richasco
Hope this helps. The vacuum tube is held in position under the dash by clips on the bolts for the cowl trim.
GaryBudd
Mine mounts under sun visor outside.
Mars
My 30 4dr also is outside. Do I need to remove the visor to remove the wiper motor? Also, I need new gears for the windsheild lifting mechanism. Any thoughts? Thanks
GaryBudd
On mine there were two screws and it should come free.
Guest
This man has windshield riser rebuild kits for 29/31 Pontiacs. I think the mechanism is the same as yours. Maybe if you contact him and see his parts or sees your regulator you can decide for sure. Spinneyhill
If you do a search of these fora, you should find at least one document that people have posted on servicing wiper motors. I would start here then head to Technical and try that one. You could also look at http://www.ply33.com/Repair/wiper Edited March 23, 2018 by Spinneyhill (see edit history)
Mars
Is the snap off cap the peice with the Trico tag on it? Still trying to get it off.
Guest
Yes, just a friction fit.
Spinneyhill
One problem that seems to afflict some of these is warping of the body so the paddle won't seal. You may be able to straighten it with a lot of patience. If that is the case, you will need a piece of flat steel and some clamps and lots of boiling water. Ask here for the method if it is warped. Have a look at the 1929 Chevrolet topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects. BearsFan315 has just overhauled a wiper motor and there are photos there.
