38Buick 80C
Here is something I wasn't expecting. The rod for the light switch... Different lengths??? I grabbed one from a different switch figuring I would take the worst one to restore. No the knob isn't epoxied yet.

I grabbed a nicer one for a rebuild/clean up I pulled back the tabs and popped open the case. This what I found. I wonder if this switch worked or if the brass piece came off when I opened the case. I don't think it did. I tightened it so it stays on the block. And cleaned up things I did put a little bit of dielectric grease on. And back together. I found my chromed pieces for the switch at the dash. I hadn't noticed the little chink in the one, I will have to have another one chromed. Just need to replace the plastic knob and this is ready to go. Yes Brian... That was about how mine looked on my 1937 Special. After my cleanup.
38Buick 80C
Something I had meant to do for a while, but I misplaced the u distribution piece. Still needs adjustment and would have liked a thicker rubber washer (will look for it at Hershey).

38Buick 80C
I decided to tackle the wheel pinstripes. I had tried to have a local vinyl place I know do something to make an easy masking kit for me, but no luck. So I bought some masking tape of size variety. First I used the 3/4" tap using the inside edge of the hub cap indentation to set my inner stipe. The I ran a 1/16 stripe. This one was just a guide to set the others. And then another 1/16. And then inner mask so I could remove the first 1/16 stripe. Then 1/8 stripe and 1/16th twice and then outer mask. And removed the 1/8th and correct 1/16th stripe. Then I simply painted with a small brush. Let it dry and remove the mask. I'm pleased. 4 more to go ...

38Buick 80C
I'm not 100% certain what they used. I believe he may have stamped them but a simple bead roller in the right hands could likely do much of it as well. https://www.eastwood.com/large-36-inch-motorized-bead-roller-and-stand.html?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0Oq2BhCCARIsAA5hubUVcOvVJzuiC7tL_ulbuBYN8wW3_B7OHvTZvis4yNHCUG8Eo0JHIFUaAi_jEALw_wcB&wcid=18669317454&wickedid=629947574041&wickedsource=google&wv=4

The wood is not a concern in so far as it is a relatively easy replacement. 2
