John_S_in_Penna
"Rare" is such an overused word, that 20% of the cars on the market are claimed to be rare! But this is one that truly is--not from production numbers, but because so many Chrysler products of this era turned to rust that there aren't very many left. Do check very carefully for rust. You're likely to find a lot. There was a 1960 Dodge Polara or Matador coupe at the Hershey car corral which was stated to be a California car with only a small area of rust that had needed repair; I lifted the trunk mat and clearly saw dozens of perforation holes and looked right down through them to the asphalt. Ed Luddy
Yes I agree. I know the guy that owns this car. It's solid underneath in the floors and frame rails, but still needs a restoration. I've never seen swivel seats in a station wagon!
Ed Luddy
I recall that the tops of the front fenders were very rust prone, most of them on the east coast were rotted thru before they were 10 years old
TerryB
Never saw the swivel seats in a wagon either. A very cool and hard to find car.

Yes, it is rare in these terms. It's rare for one not to be a pile of rust even more true in Ontario Canada where this car is listed. Production figures for 1959 wagons: Deluxe wagon 2dr : 15,074. Custom wagon 2dr, 6P : 1,852. Deluxe wagon 4dr. : 35,086. Custom wagon 4dr 6P : 35,024. Custom wagon 4dr 9P : 16,993. Sport wagon 4dr 6P : 7,224. Sport wagon 4dr 9P : 9,549. STAGE III
Yes, have to fully agree on the rust after owning a 59 Saratoga many years ago. Wife insisted on seatbelts of course for the kids so one Saturday after amassing the parts I am kneeling down on the drivers side to drill a hole through the beautiful red carpet installed by the PO. The drill bit literally made ONE turn before the whole drill fell through only stopped by the drill chuck body lol The PO was a very close friend so took him at his word on how "solid" the car was, my first and last venture into 50's or early 60's Chryslers. If that seat swivels its probably because all but one mount has rusted loose lol Love those body styles though! : ) Edited October 17, 2017 by STAGE III (see edit history)
