Need help with headlite lens

Recommended Posts

The attached photo shows my replacement lens for my 29 DB truck headlite. Note the dimensions of 9 1/2" OD.

I would like to replace with original lens that has the "DB" logo stamp.

The second picture shows an incorrect lens with the diameter is 8 1/2" OD.

The part number is "WP14933" for that lens. I would like to know corresponding part number for my lens. If I could get it that would help me locate correct lens.

Hi Sherman,

If I recall you have a 1928 DA120

according to the MPB your DA120 should have Twilite 9 7/16" diameter with a part # 300520. I'm sure you have that information on page T-8-14 so are you thinking it's incorrect, or are you just wanting to replace with the DB logo lens ?

Thanks to you all for your input on this topic.

I have one Mazda lamp no 1110. It is a "depress beam headlamp" and shows part no 10096.

Markings on lens edge shows 8 31/32 X 9 39/64, Rounding off to 8 15/16 X 9 10/16. This was on my DE truck and it may be a replacement lens that fits in the lite bucket. Would be good to get a matching lens. I do not know if there was a DB logo on the lens for the early "E" series trucks.

My DE Parts book shows a listing as a 10" dia. Headlite:

DE book pg 30 part no 521260

This part no. agrees with MPB listing T-8-14 as a Spreadlite 8 11/16".

MPB part no 300520 refers to model DE or DA 120(Twilite 9 7/16")

There were all kinds of salvaging of parts as "E"  models were closing out from GB to DB. GB parts were used on DB trucks.

MPB says 14933 only used on Models A B C and  DD all 8-1/4" 3 pc. doors . Do not know what exactly is .

Look at page 0-1. These are the earlier series trucks from 1923 to 1927. Do not know what 3 pc. doors are.

I don't think the 1929s came with a logo on the lenses. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that 1928 was the last year for those lenses.

Checked fellow GB/DB truck owner and he that these trucks did not have logos on them.

He did lead me to this site : http://oldcarlenses.com/index.html .

Check it out.

found this in my original "Parts Listing " for my DE model Dodge. It shows 10" dia. Headlite lens:

DE book pg 30 part no 521260.

This agrees with Master Parts Book (mpb) listing T-8-14 as a Spreadlite 8 11/16". Must be ID of inside.

I have Mazda lamp no 1110. It is depress beam headlamp. Part no 10096.

Shows 8 31/32 X 9 39/64. I will need one more.

MPB part no 300520 refers to model DE or DA 120(Twilite 9 7/16

That's right, I forgot you had the DE which eventually became the DA120....Very good research work and interesting topic for these trucks that have very limited info to go off of.

Can you post a pic of the DE parts book cover you are referring to ? I have a copy but I'm missing the cover showing the frame  # range and wanted to put it with my file.. You can email it to me if needed.
