1938 Glove Box Springs?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Were springs used to assist in the glove box door opening, or was the latch mechanism supposed to kick the door open? If springs were used, a picture and/or source would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

I have a small one mounted inside of the door under a side screw  there..its size is like from a ball pen...  it works again the frame from the dash....

Because for me too it's  to much pain to open "just now" the door..

It works great since I install it 2004.

I always thought the junk you kept squashed in the glove box was enough to pop the door open when it was unlatched.

Well, these two guys were in the glove box when I bought the car.  I never could figure out why glove box springs would be this heavy, or figure out a way to mount them.

Does anyone know what they are for?  The coiled portion is about 1-1/4" diameter.
