FrankWest107
I have a repro Ford 1933 battery that just cannot take a charge. Only 1 year old. Has anyone had any success with these horrible repro batteries or should I just replace with a modern battery like optima. 28 Chrysler
Use your repop battery as a case for an Optima.
FrankWest107
Anyone have experience in the best way to cut the old battery case, so as to avoid problems in making the case for the old new battery. Maybe cutting the bottom off the old case so that it fits over the new battery???
Bhigdog
If you show the car use a modern battery and put the repro in just for the judges to look at. If you don't show the car just use a modern battery. Any repro lead acid I've tried has been OVER PRICED PURE JUNK. 3 years tops and it's dead. I get 6 to 7 years out of a good NAPA store 6 volt battery at less than half the price of a JUNK repro. As an aside, if you do show the car, Just remove the battery sticker logos with the help of a hair dryer and a little lacquer thinner . As long as the battery is plain black with no modern stickers on it the judges will pretend it's a tar top oldie. I have 4 Grand National winners that passed that test..............Bob
Pomeroy41144
You might want to head over to FordBarn forums. Cutting the battery cases has been discussed there many times. Use the search function and you should be able to find the threads that treat that topic. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189600&highlight=Ford+battery+case http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4 Edited April 8, 2017 by Pomeroy41144 (see edit history)

JamesBulldogMiller55Buick
I've had two DELCO repro batteries for my Buick. The repros are junk, and cost twice as much as good batteries
