1956322
Anyone drive their buick with the power steering belt removed... Curious if it's anything like driving it with manual steering.. My leaks are pretty bad and I won't be able to address them for a little while.
Beemon
Driving with the pump off is worse than manual steering and can cause damage to the steering gear, or at least the rag coupling. What part is leaking, pump or box?

JohnD1956
Practically impossible to make any sharp turns without the PS operative. I would not recommend it.
NTX5467
It might be possible that any steering wheel repairs that aren't made yet, might be hastened with the added flex/effort of steering the car at slow speeds. When you turn the wheel with no power assist function, you're still having to push fluid around in the system and past any control valves, too, in addition to just steering the vehicle. 1956322
Well I tried to order the box through rock auto from pares but they cancelled my order so I have ordered the seal kit from fusick so I guess I'll be diving into her soon.. Also ordered a new rag joint from old cars
