Old NOS Coil and Voltage regulator for?

I note an old marker rendering of a part number on that Voltage Regulator, as "VR 101." I have that listed in one of my catalogs as fitting many Chrysler product vehicles from 1960 to 1969...although most listings seem to be from the early 1960's.

I think that number may be for a different manufacturer than the more modern ones.  I too came up with that VR101 application but those regulators are quite a bit smaller and different , I've sold several of them in the past.  I imagine this is probably a 40's or early 50's part at the latest by design.  I do appreciate the effort you put into responding and looking this up though.

I'm really thinking because of the style of it (the regulator),  making it appear old, but 12 volt being marked on it,  that it's probably Big truck, or possibly industrial in nature.  Seems it mounts on the generator by the curved bracket.

Any guesses on the coil?  I have seen it before somewhere but can't recall what it was on.
