bob duffer
I just returned from Europe and saw this Jaguar parked on the street while in Budapest. Really didn't see a lot of vintage cars over there.
capngrog
I don't care where or who you are, that's a beautiful car. I did a bit of quick internet/google research and found a link to one with the same license number. The link: http://ipocars.com/vinfo/jaguar/mk_ix-1959.html How were things in Budapest? bob duffer
It was overcast and rainy later in the day. We came back yesterday to Michigan. we went on a 8 day river cruise down the Danube. I really enjoyed seeing all the towns along the way..You have to pay 50 cents when you want to use any bathroom anywhere in Europe.

John_S_in_Penna
Yes, Jaguar certainly made some beautifully styled cars. Even their sedans were good looking. But England was a socialist country back then, and as car collectors know, Jaguars weren't reliable. I read that, around the 1970's, English-made Fords could not find a market in continental Europe because of reliability problems. Wow, if great styling and reliability could only go hand in hand! Restorer32
Those big Jag sedans are amazingly peppy for their size and reasonably reliable as long as you remember to bang on the fuel pump and lift the pistons in the carbs (they stick) on a regular basis. JACK M
It says limousine. But it looks like zero leg room in the back seat.

Jack, I believe "limousine" is the term used in Europe for our everyday sedans. When they use that term, they don't mean limousines as we know them. (So then, what do Europeans call our true limousines?)
Restorer32
We have had 3 Mark Jag Sedans over the years and restored a '51 Mk 7 for a customer. They are actually quite roomy in the back seats as well as the front.
60FlatTop
Sometimes I regret selling my '53 Mark 7. Just sitting on my little blue stool and doing nothing is fun with an old Jaguar. Bernie
Restorer32
The '51 we restored was a horror story. It came out of a bankrupt resto shop that had managed to lose (or sell) most all the "fiddly bits" as the Brits would say. Any piece of chrome smaller than a bumper...gone. All the electrical accessories for the engine, voltage regulator, various relays...gone. Took us longer to find replacement parts than it did to finish the car. It was a 4 speed with bucket seats, somewhat rare in a Mk VII.
