I'm writing a piece that takes place in the late 1920's. I came across your page via the 1920s slang page and wondered if and wondered if anyone might know what the term "jake-gurgler" might mean. Also, can anyone tell me what car this is?

Thanks,

`Jay

The first car has that Chrysler product look like a 1930 Dodge Brothers, but the hubcap and visor do not look right for that. The second car is definitely a Dodge Brothers. Not sure what year.....maybe about a 1926.

Jake could mean everything is OK gurgler could mean a drain, although slang could be different in different countries for example if I'm going to meet a friend at Tim's here in Canada it means for a coffee where in the US it might mean at a guy named Tim's house
