Guest OneSpecialBuick
I have a 1939 Buick Special, and it appears to be black with blue underneath. Is there a way to determine the Original color of the car by using the VIN?thanks
Rusty_OToole
There should be a plate on the firewall with information like model, body style, interior, and paint.
Guest OneSpecialBuick
What's the fire wall? Is that between engine and passenger compartment?

TG57Roadmaster
Right, the firewall is under the hood at the back of the engine compartment. Look for a data plate something like this one, found on the passenger side. Post a picture of it and we can decode it for you.Welcome to the Forums,TG

As on your car is my guess )The data plate is normally not painted over :- natural aluminiumIts not the VIN.
