nzcarnerd
There are quite a few similar cars from that period but so far I have found nothing that is an exact match for that visor.
intimeold
Here is another pic of a Chandler; with a different view of the visor. I don't know, just saw this pic.The side body, ribbing is different on this one, though.http://assets.hemmings.com/story_image/131343-500-0.jpg?rev=2 Edited December 15, 2014 by intimeold (see edit history)
Guest Al Brass
To me, it has a Maxwell or early Chrysler 4 look about it.Al
keiser31
It looks like a 1927 Chrysler by the size of those hubcaps and the visor.
nzcarnerd
My first thought was Chrysler but it has to be no later than mid 1926 because it is a Fisher body. I have looked at lots of sedan pics but have not found an exact match for that visor. Note that the outer edge of the visor is inside the edge of the car. Most of that time wrap around the outside of the pillar. I think it is too big to be a Maxwell. If it was a Chrysler it would be a 70. The movie was supposedly shot in the south of France - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017843/ - which might explain the lack of cowl lights.
keiser31
Could possibly be a 1928 Model 72 Chrysler....visor and other details match....
nzcarnerd
I agree the details match but what about the badge on the lower corner of the cowl. Maybe something other than a Fisher badge??
keiser31
It DOES look like the body badge for Fisher, but it may be a reflection like the one on the door.
28 Chrysler
It does look like a Chrysler, maybe a late 1926/27. The early 1926 Chrysler's had a cathedral style kick plate riveted directly to the splash apron.
HarryJ
Looks like a series "72" Chrysler Royal sedan to me....Fisher body
