cahartley
A friend of mine has this engine. The entire crankcase is of aluminum so any idea what it is?......
Rusty_OToole
I thought you would have an answer by now but if nobody knows, I will take a whack at it. Aluminum construction, OHV straight six from the twenties (updraft carb) or teens, suggests Marmon 34 to me.
Layden B
Starter, generator, distributor still on it? If so how about model #s?
Rusty_OToole
A web search turned up a pic of a Marmon, it looks different, the valve cover is taller and the manifolding is different.Stutz had an OHV six and so did Nash and Hudson, wonder if it could be one of those? Did they have aluminum crankcase or 1 piece iron block?Marmon enginehttp://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21223/lot/530/
