Pete Phillips
A guy in southern Louisiana (Lake Charles, I think) called last week and said he had a complete, running, 248 engine and transmission for sale--think it is out of a '48. I have my notes on it at the garage, but am leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow for a last run at Wheatbelt Buick Parts in Ok. before he crushes all the remaining cars on Monday. When get back I will look it up and let you know. If you don't hear from me by Monday, send a reminder. He wants to sell it all together, though, not piecemeal.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338Leonard, Tx

critterpainter
Compare the heads carefully as the 1940 and older heads are slightly different than the 1941-48 heads. One difference in the area of where the thermostat housing bolts to the head. The early and late housings don't interchange.Bill

1939_Buick
A 1939 head does not have the last stud for the exhaust manifold (after no 8 cylinder). A 1 year only design
