Guest Barneys_Bud
After years of owning a 41 Buick model 56 business coupe I recently discovered a compartment in the trunk. I am not sure if it was "Stock" or added on somewhere along the way. I will attempt to attach some pictures and would appreciate any and all feedback on the subject. It looks like something the factory may have done but one is never sure. I would also be interested in knowing if there are many of these business coupes out there. Guest Grant Magrath
Our 39 coupe has one similar.CheersGrant
jvelde
My '39 Special Business Coupe also has the compartment. The trunk has never been restored, so I am pretty sure it is original. I keep jumper cables, jack, tow strap, air pump and other "essentials" in there.
Daves1940Buick56S
That is cool! Was there anything interesting in there? So far in my car's various nooks and crannies I found a movie ticket stub from 1985 and a 1964 penny.Cheers, Dave
Guest BigDogDaddy
Is that where the original jack and tools were stowed by the factory ?

Guest Barneys_Bud
That is my guess since there was no real accommodation under the spare.

Guest Barneys_Bud
Just some dust, dirt and a few upholstery tacks.
Guest Barneys_Bud
I believe so. The reason I say that is that there is no civilized way to store that stuff otherwise. In the regular coupes with the rear seat the jack and accessories are stored under the rear seat cushion.

Guest ol-nobull
Hi. Just a comment to FLYER15015 - As it appears you are dressed as Bonnie & Clyde in the photo, you ought to get a few of those bullet hole decals added for effect. Great looking car.
