Grandpa Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm at a loss of words for this car. It is an advertising car made for Moxie (a soft drink). The pictures were taken in Los Angeles in 1930. The car has a Massachusetts plate, as Moxie had a plant in Massachusetts in 1930. Grandpa
Dave Mellor NJ Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 There was at least one restored by an owner who brought it to Hershey for many years. It was also featured in Antique Automobile.
Mark Simmons Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 How much Moxie did that rider/driver have before he climbed up on that mount and drove road away into the sunset?
trimacar Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I believe that four Moxiemobiles exist, a couple of which are earlier than the LaSalle. Here's one recent picture. There's a gentleman from Pennsylvania who usually brings one to the Winchester AACA show, Wil Markey...It's quite a sight....
Pete K. Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I saw a restored Moxiemobile at a car show around 1978. It was a base 1930 or '31 Buick. (I did not see if it was a six or an eight motor.) Moxie began here in the Boston area.
Hudsy Wudsy Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 There are several pictures of them on Google. I've included a link below:https://www.google.com/search?q=moxie+car&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=pxI&tbo=u&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=JqoQUc6QEoifyQGyj4DYBw&ved=0CDUQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=848
Buicksplus Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Here's one, very well done on a Buick chassis at the 2010 Glidden Tour in Holland, MI. Looked kinda scary to drive, high up on that horse! I would definitely take some Moxie to drive that thing in today's traffic!
