stock_steve
We drove old cars in the 2013 Branford, CT Memorial Day Parade again this year, and the same pale yellow '69 or so Skylark Convertible showed up (that I caught a couple of quick glimpses of last year--see somewhere around the middle of the previous page of this thread), I believe connected with the Branford Lions Club. I took a couple of pictures of it during a pause in the parade. I talked with the owner a bit, who was a nice guy. It was cool to see it out and about again this year, and it did a nice job transporting its Lions Club volunteers (not to mention sounding great through that righteous dual exhaust system!). Dave Gelinas (XP-300)
The Harlow Curtice BuickThe Electra 225 Series was Buick's top-of-the-line offering in 1960, but this car is not a standard production model. In fact it is a one-off built by General Motors Styling Studio for Harlow H. Curtice, who was the President of GM from 1952 until 1958.Got to love those tail lights. MrEarl
1954 Buick ad for Buick Glaze. Note the incorrect placement of the Special Emblem on the rear quarter panel.Good eye Dave!!I just bought that ad off eBay and had planned on framing it and using it in a display with a couple of Buick Accessory cans of wax and chrome polish. The seller failed to use any cardboard, just a manila envelope. Of course it got folded double a couple times in the mail and now has two big creases that won't even iron out. The car in the ad looks like Breeze, my first Special, only mine had a white roof.

smithbrother
I ran with a hard core group of hot rodders in the 50's.We, were Corvette, Jag, Austin Healy, MG, verts, and 2-door HT fans, so anything with a post was normally larger, so we called them, 'HOUSES'. So there were 2-door and 4-door HOUSES. We were strong GM, Ford, Mopar guys toooooo. I had a 54 Century custom HT (scallops), then a new 57 fuelie Vette, and many other cars since Dad was a Buick dealer. I was a spoiled car guy. The one car I should have kept was a 36 Caddy V-16. Dad took it in on trade, I talked him out of it, well, a couple days later attorney showed up, and said the man that traded the car in was under doctor care, and wasn't of sound mind, so Dad took the other car back, and took the Caddy away from me. My Dad wasn't a rip-off guy, so did the right thing. I was sad, but at that time had no clue to the future value of the car. The GOOD OLE DAYS.....Dale in Indy Edited June 7, 2013 by smithbrother (see edit history)

Note however the poor fit on the drivers door and the very incorrect interior.Buick : Century Model 60 in Buick | eBay MotorsThe interior had me gagging, apparently the seller didn't like the original green, I love it, especially with the Condor Yellow. (The combination of which was known as lemon and lime that year). But re the door fitment, I am thinking the door just wasn't closed all the way, probably because of the too fat door panels. It always kills me to see the expense some folks go to such as with this interior and it turns out so hideous and ruining the cars value while for just a few dollars more they could have bought the correct material and had it done right(er). Tha's also not Condor Yellow, too creamy looking, Condor Yellow has a little bit of green in it. Sort of a shame to see all the $$ spent on a very desirable model and it not be right. I made my offer but apparently they think it's worth more than $1900.54.

stock_steve
My son and I attended the Central CT Region AACA car show in Glastonbury, CT yesterday (Sunday, June 9, 2013), and had a tremendous time. Here's a bit more info about the event, in a thread originated by forum member SteveMackCT, who is a Central CT Region member & worker on the event: http://forums.aaca.org/f213/ccr-aaca-glastonbury-car-show-june-352556.htmlI saw many beautiful Buicks there, and photographed most, if not all of them. I will gradually upload photos I took of them as I am able. I will start with photos I took of an incredible 1920 Buick, model listed as "K45" on the windshield card. What a cool and amazing car:Great job by SteveMack and all the Central CT Region AACA organizing and producing this wonderful event!Steve2003 Buick LeSabre, Dark Bronzemist MetallicBCA #47004
