West Peterson
This is a cool photo. Is it a Cadillac. Anyone know who the people are?

nzcarnerd
It is not a Cadillac - wheelbase is too long for starters. No idea what it is yet though.
West Peterson
Stevens Duryea, possibly???
nzcarnerd
I don't think Stevens-Duryea because the it does not appear to have the 'side arms' on the radiator badge. It has similarities to the 1910 S-D on this page - Ira's Excellent Adventure - but also a lot of differences; radiator core type and shape of front fenders etc. Not many cars used those squared off front ends of the front fenders. Another one to discount is Thomas. I also don't think it is a Matheson.Might it be a Speedwell? Unfortunately many cars used that Mercedes style radiator. It is a case of picking detail differences, like the number of hub bolts for example. Edited June 18, 2012 by nzcarnerd (see edit history)
oldford
It looks like a 7 passenger version of the last one you put here. 10 spoke front wheels and all... It just needs to have bills on the front fenders.Frank
Layden B
Any chance this a is another of the " is it a Chalmers-Detroit or a Cadillac " debates?
nzcarnerd
Layden I think you hit the nail on the head. It looks to be a 1910 Chalmers-Detroit 40 (or "Forty"?), their first model with a long enough wheelbase for this picture (122"). There is a copy of an ad on this page - Brinkman Community, Oklahoma - Transportation History - Greer County OKGenWeb - which appears to match all the necessary details. Maybe someone can find a better copy?Found another ad near the bottom of this page - http://www.earlyamericanautomobiles.com/americanautomobiles9.htm Edited June 19, 2012 by nzcarnerd (see edit history)
