Guest amb70722
Hi,I bought this at a yardsale and I am trying to find out about it.I know the history of Ormond Beach Garage , but I was wondering what the badge was for? Award, souvenir, membership? I have scoured the web for months and have e-mailed and talked to some wonderful people but still have no answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Amy
1937hd45
Looks like it dates from just about the time it burned to the ground. One of the great unsolved crimes.
Guest amb70722
Thanks - That really does bring to mind another question? Does anyone know the cause of the fire?
Guest amb70722
In the box of "stuff" I bought there is a copy of the Antique Automobile Club Magazine with a article about the fire in it. Honestly it has been so much fun just researching the badge(?) There is a whole world of devoted car lovers that I thought had kind of died out.Amy
Dave@Moon
Can you post a photo of the back side of the item? That should show people if and how it was supposed to be mounted.
Studemax
Looks like it dates from just about the time it burned to the ground. One of the great unsolved crimes. These items have nothing to do with Smokey Yunick's garage.
Restorer32
Looks like a "modern" collectible. Possibly one of a series?
Steve Moskowitz
My understanding, Ormond Beach expert Dan Smith has told poster the derivation of this badge.
1937hd45
The Ormond Beach Garage fire predates the one in Daytona, two TOTALLY different eras of racing. These items have nothing to do with Smokey Yunick's garage.
