Dave Mellor NJ Posted February 28, 2011 Share Posted February 28, 2011 American Wire Gauge is very confusing but we are stuck with it. The smaller the number, the larger the amps. 12 wire is good for 20 amps,14 wire is good for 15 amps. you get down to O,good for 125 amps and you can't go any lower so they go OO or 2/O, good for 150amps as JB said.
