Dandy Dave
Is that photo reversed? The writing along the sides apears reversed? Or has it just bled though from behind? Dandy Dave!

Dandy Dave
Yes, you are right Leif. the "State Street" sign reads right also. I was thinking that I had some old Kodak cameras from the 20's and they had a steel pointed pencil attached to the back and a window that you could open to write something. I bet that is why the scribbles are reversed. Dandy Dave!
drwatson
Unreversing the writing with Photoshop reveals our main characters(besides the Hudson): "Marion Fryer" and "Officer H.J. MCENTEE".Officer McEntee is saying: "Tell me Lass, how fahst were ya backin op 'fore ya hit thet truck loada nuns?"
Grandpa
Re. the reverse writing on the photograph:Details of the scene photographed were scratched onto the glass plate's emulsion layer (on the back side) during processing. Thus, the reversed writing.Grandpa
