  1. "I have no comment about the asking price. I'm just trying to catch my breath !" Are you trying to catch your breath from the asking price or from the car itself?????
  2. Depending on the type/make of car if there is a registry or not. Ask the guy you bought it from who he bought it from and go backwards from there. Sometimes there is some paperwork left in the car from previous owner(s) and that can help.
  3. I think the mindset (you know, the "barn find") of sellers nowadays is that the more dust and dirt the more appeal AND $$$$
  4. Yeah you did!!!! At least see it once. About 9-12 seconds in After this little sidetrack(I had to do it) I will get the Post back on topic.
  5. From "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" correct?👄👄
  6. Been doing a lot of little tedious work (mechanical stuff) to try and get the Pierce started. I am still not ready to post the pictures yet - but eventually I will
  7. Try Olson's Gaskets - 360-871-1207
  8. Just to be perfectly clear in what you are saying. Connecting the meter with the RED probe of the meter to the (+) POS post of the battery and the Black probe of the meter to the (-) NEG post of the battery you are reading (-) negative voltage on the meter, correct?
  9. Whaaaatttttt? I'm shocked!!!!!!!! You mean you can't just drop a battery in it and drive it out of its grave, like they do in those You Tube videos????
  10. No. You do not have the motor running. I have a printout that says to momentarily touch or just drag a piece of wire across the posts, at the same time, marked BAT and GEN on the regulator. You should see a spark when you do. This is called "flashing". DO NOT hold the wire to the posts. Just drag it across the posts. If I am incorrect I am sure someone here will let us know
  11. Sounds like a faulty ignition switch
  12. So, I was able to take a few more steps forward over the weekend. When I have completed this phase of the process I will have a complete update along with pictures. It won't be very soon as progress is slow due to my lack of time. I think EVERYONE will be surprised when I do that. I know I was. Question for Ed: Could you please show me your set-up for the Evapo-Rust process and try to explain what I would need to perform it. I have the water heater, Evapo-Rust, some 5/8" hose... I need to know what adapters I need to connect the hoses to the engine, etc Also, do/did you run 100% Evapo-Rust or do you dilute it (50/50??) Thanks, Joe
  13. It has been some time since I updated any "progress" on the Pierce. I have made a giant step toward getting the car ready for starting but I do not want to post about it yet. Once everything is reassembled, etc. I will give a detailed update with pictures. Joe

  15. Good job. Don't forget to save all of that 1940's dirt/dust. It may become valuable some day....😉😉😉 Anyway, I think, like you said, the 573 # is probably for reference during assembly.
  16. I'll say it again. From what is visible in the pictures (rust holes in the drivers side floor / plenty of patches in the pass side floor) I would look very carefully at the underside of this car if I was interested. Also, check the rockers and the area(s) under the front fender vents. Those areas were notorious for rotting out
