While on the subject. My 55 RM is hooked up to a push button, which works fine. Is it worth trying convert back to carb switch starting? Don't know why it was changed. I opened the carb switch and it looks OK. Or just leave well enough alone?

It appears in 57 the red was called Seminole red,a 56 carryover. Similar to Cherokee red in 55.

Shoot SMS an email with the interior code and they will send a nice sample package of available fabrics for your car. The trunk fabric on my sample card is not correct. The did produce it this year. So be aware of what should be correct or if close is good enough> They also do door panels. They don't know interior paint colors which is my problem.

Thanks James. That is a great reference item but it doesn't deal with the painted metal colors. The only reference I have found is the Ditzler chart. I have asked around and apparently code 473 wasn't a big seller. I am certain the lower part should be the lighter green.Whoever did it didn't want to deal with the lettering and radio grill. I just don't know about the upper dash and garnish.
1953 Pinehurst Green looks close as well.

The dash on my Roadmaster has been resprayed. Seems there were three greens available in 55. Briar green closely matches the dark green, Skylark the lighter. I have never seen a two-tone like mine. Overspray is evident around the vent/heater sliders and other areas. I have seen the two-tone with white lower and different upper but not two greens. Would like to return to original. Interior code is 473. Any ideas?

Even a near perfectly functioning antenna will have noise if not extended enough.
I concur with this diagnosis. There is a noticeable difference in static even if my antenna is 6-8" down. Full extended gives best retention. And as per the owners manual, don't start the car with the radio on.

The inner potions of the bars, part "D: on Liefs shop page have been bent outward. Rotate my pic 101-0015 180deg. to orient like your pics. Look at the same part of the bar on my car. It is nearly a 90 deg. bend and mates with hole. Your bend is somewhat less.

Do you have the bullets reversed?

Not sure about '49 but most years the ez-eye tinted glass option was green.

Assuming the car will not be driven in inclement weather and is rotisserie restored, why not leave off the undercoating? Or are you talking about painting the chassis?

If there is a puddle of ATF under the transmission, it's a Dynaflow!

Apple Hydraulics will do a complete rebuild. Not terribly expensive.

Anyone try a mild degreaser like Simple Green? Seems like a good long soak might work and inexpensive and harmless.

Got the repro sombreros, need the rods. Are they produced? Can they be made? What size rod works?

Thank you Bernie

Looks like you need a partial harness. Try this outfit:

I needed just the wiring for my license lights. Two wires with bulb sockets. I soldered into the rear harness. Cost was about $35.00

Much like British cars and radial aircraft engines, if there are no fluids under an old Buick, there are no fluids in it.

Third option. Let YnZ make the harness. I needed just the license lamp harness for my 55 Roadmaster last year. $30 + shipping with correct wires and connectors. Reasonable I thought. Let them put some disconnects to make it easier in the future.

JB weld question was to fix the E-brake release.
I will look into the clips on the Heat/Vent knobs.
Thanks

The knob on my emergency brake release came off. Not broken just came off rod. What can be used to reattach? JB Weld too strong?
Heat and vent knobs are pretty loose as well. Ideas on them?
Thanks
