Tedd, If I undertand you correctly, you may have to raise the windwings assembly and adjust the stops that limit the upward travel of the window glass. Remove the interior door panels and look for the windwing framework mounting screws etc. to see if they can be loosened to allow the assembly to move upward and close the gap. For the window glass look for upward movement limiting brackets and adjust to allow the glass to move up and close the gap. JW

Neal, Finding a clean door may be difficult. I suggest having yours repaired by a qualified metal man. Shocks and wire harness and brake hoses are available from Roberts Motor Parts or Andy Bernbaum (spelling ?) Buy tubing from auto parts store and make your hard brake lines. What is wrong with the speedo? Be specific. If the needle fell of, try removing the stainless bezel and gluing the needle back on. If the needle plastic is warped, make a new one and glue it on. If you have the original seat, remove all old upholstery material and make repairs to the springs and seat spring frame and recover with a kit from the previously mentioned suppliers. Good seat springs will be as hard to find as rust free doors. May have to remove cylinder head and inspect pistons, valves and cylinders for wear or damage and then decide to rebuild or not. Your complete fuel system will need attention also. Last fall I completed the complete restoration of a customers 1942 Dodge 1/2 ton PU so this is all fresh in my mind. I just finished the restoration of a 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe and may be of assistance. For clarification, this car was a 2 passenger coupe with a horizontal deck behind the driver/passenger seat. I never did know if it was a business coupe or an opera coupe or a business mans coupe. I like to call it a bootleggers coupe because it could have transported gallons of hooch in the huge trunk and in the hidden area behind the seat below the deck. Everyone had a differant name for it. The seat back cushion ( not the complete seat back frame ) hinges upward to allow access to the large area below the deck. This hinged seat back arrangement would not have been needed in any other model and may be hard to find. Do have any part of the original? I would be happy to email or USmail photos of the car showing the interior if you will provide an address. I fitted a LeBaron Bonney interior kit in the car and highly recommend them. Try cleaning your tank first. Remove it from the truck and drain it. Pour in a couple handfulls of small rough stones and some soap and water. Rotate the tank so that the mixture " scrubs " the interior surface of the tank. Do this for several minutes. This action will loosen rust and varnish and allow it to flow out with the water. Pour out and decide if it needs it again. Let interior dry completely and look inside the best you can. At this time you can use the tank sealing products to coat the interior or use it as is. Probably a good idea to replace the fuel line between the tank and fuel pump also. Any competant restoration shop can do this if you don't want to. I've used the technique many times.
