  1. Do you mean a rim spreader for demountable rims?
  2. I need a 25.5" O.D. demountable rim in good condition for my 1924 Master Six Buick. It has a latch as shown below. I am told that Buick used Jaxon rims from at least 1918 to the 30's, the name Jaxon is usually stamped on the inside, but most of the time the rim is rusty so it would be hard the read the name. The rim I am looking for is actually a Jaxon #23 24" the same rim is for a 1923 Buick. The outside diameter of a mounted rim is 25.5". If you have one, please email photos directly to: durcodude@comcast.net.
  3. I too am in need of a demountable rim for my 1924 Buick Master Six. Mine is 25.5" diameter. Photo of the latch is below for reference. Maybe they are the same type? Dave, if you have one in good shape, could you bring it to to the National Meet in Flint?
  4. Rick, I think you could get different answers from as many people as you care to ask. The so called "experts" judging car shows could each give you their own version. That is why I don't frequent car shows.... I would rather enjoy my cars by driving them.
  5. You might try posting this on the Buick forum.
  6. A quick search turned up these: http://mdmetric.com/prod/iko/ikonucf.pdf http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/N2SRHI?PMSECT=2001136
  7. Try this http://www.who-sells-it.com/cy/borgeson-685/borgeson-catalog-339/page-6-fullsize.html
  8. Try this link. As you can see below, there are many forms of these spring washers... http://www.mcmaster.com/ About Belleville Disc Springs Use singly, or stack as shown to increase load and deflection. Springs stacked parallel increase the load by the number of springs used. Springs stacked inverted increase the deflection of the spring by the number of springs in the stack while retaining the load of only one across the span of the stack. Springs stacked parallel and inverted increase both load and deflection. Belleville Disc Springs Hold large loads in small spaces. Often used under bolt heads and on valves and bearings to maintain tension. Will return to their specified height repeatedly after constant, intermittent, and cyclic loading. Flange Belleville Disc Springs Designed to fit standard bolt sizes. Maintain tension and prevent bolts from loosening in flange applications, which prevents damage to the bolt and joint. Ball Bearing Belleville Disc Springs Install against ball bearings to handle axial loads and reduce noise, float, and end play of the bearings. Polyurethane Flat Disc Springs Provide high loads in small spaces. Nonmagnetic and resist oxidation, oil, abrasion, and ozone. Must be separated by rigid flat washers when stacked. Curved Disc Springs Excellent for light loads in small spaces. Often used to reduce axial end play. Exert relatively light thrust loads. Designed to fit standard rod and hole sizes. Wave Disc Springs For light thrust loads in small spaces. Great for ball bearings because they handle axial loads and reduce noise, float, and end play of the bearings. Finger Disc Springs Combine the flexibility of disc springs and the axial-load strength of wave springs. Absorb vibration and reduce noise, end play, and skidding wear on parts rotating at high speed.
  9. Try this site and search for felt. http://www.mcmaster.com/

  11. Check Ebay. These come up relatively often. You just have to keep watching for your model. You might contact the seller to see if he has a set for your car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-1934-...7QQcmdZViewItem
  12. Chris was good about sending several photos. Here is a sample of what you will see.
  13. I have yellow & black cloth covered wires on my 13 model 31 Buick, but my 15 model C25 came with black rubber covered wires. Maybe when the starter/generator came out in 1914 they went to black wires?
  14. Yes, it appears better double size. I couldn't get it to start on the site. I had to download it to a file and then open it separately.
  15. Buick Bonnery, Ken...it that you? You may not remember me from about 20 years ago when I only had a 29 Buick & attended BCA meetings at Sam's in Sacra-tomato. Please send me a private email at durcodude@comcast.net I just want to catch up on the Capitol Chapter BCA.
  16. I'll check my stash and let you know of I find one.
  17. Lamar, Your observation is interesting.... How long have we had the Prewar and Postwar forums? There seems to be opportunity for some competition for the biggest windbags....
  18. No, it was not burned in the California fires. I got it in Oregon with no explaination of how it got burned. I salvaged the engine, tranny, rear end, & brakes for spares. The acetylene tank w/straps is now mounted on my 13 Buick touring car. I also got a spare tire mount & a great pattern for a rear mounted tool box for my 15 speedster. I sold the rest of it to others who needed the frame, steering column, and other misc. parts.
  19. Nope, I don't think it is Buick; it could be many different makes.

  21. I recognize some of the tools on the Vlchek site. I guess I will have to sort through them again....
  22. I bought a burned 1912 Model 36 Buick on Ebay and picked it up in Oregon. It had Buffalo Wire Wheels and was certainly not the same car you described, but I thought you might like to see what it was....
  23. Byron, The column sizes and lever rods may be the same for several years, but the horn buttons are different through those same years. Perhaps you should post the demensions of yours so others will know if they have one that fits.
  24. Byron, You can repair it if you use a good glue like "Gorilla Glue" & make a fixture and/or use a cinch strap to compress & hold the multiple finger joints together until it dries. Otherwise you can expect to pay $100 - $300 on Ebay or at a swap meet if you can find one. Good luck...
