I found the number for the 223 near me and will give them a call tomorrow night after work and i wsh I could have done much more.
-
Its a scam and every time I post a wanted add I get them,I was looking for a Ford Y block and someone in the UK said he had one and quoated me a real cheap price to ship and claiming Fed Ex would be the shipper. Keep on looking and do not send any money and someone on here should be able to find you one.

There is a 235 that was made from 41 to 49 that looks identicle to a 216 and is a slpash oiler too but they came in big trucks but after all these years can eventually show upo in about anything.
-
I have a dipstick and tube from a non slant pan but not sure if it will work.
-
If the motor is tired I would suggest buying a good used motor that can be heard run as they can be picked up cheap since alot get pulled in favor of V8s,there is a big truck version that is a 262 but have never seen any. I will bring all the necessary tools and equipment with me and hope I can get it running better for you. There is a 223 in my area on craigslist that can be heard run but we will worry about that after I check it out.

That sounds great. We have a fridge full of Diet Coke, Diet Mountain Dew, Diet Sunkist Orange and Diet A&W Root Beer. My wife will make a big crock pot full of beef or chicken stew or her excellent shrimp and mushroom alfredo and whatever you don't eat here you can take home with you. I'm not a drinker but if you want beer just tell me what kind, or if you don't like diet sodas let me know what you want. I really appreciate the offer. I'll send you a PM with my address and phone number. I'm only half a mile from the exit 17 offramp of I-71 so I'm not way out in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for your very generous offer....
Real sugar non diet Mountain Dew in glass bottles would be good enough,I had one a couple weeks ago and I thought it was the late 70s again.

Since you are only a hour from the Cincy area I could stop by some sunday in a couple weeks, all I ask in return is to feed me and have some cold ones if you drink beer and if not soft drinks are fine.

I did not attend any of the Springfield swapmeets this year,I needed some parts that I knew were in the junkyards so I went there instead.
-
Pull the valve cover and see if the oil return holes are not plugged and mighr be able to come down and check it out some weekend if you can not get anyone closer to look at it..
-
My newest is 20 years old.
-
If you were a little closer I could help you out,you are about 3 hours from me and I used to hit that swapmeet at the state fairgrounds but have not been there in about 10 years.

I am thinking about not working on vehicles I touched,I had been chasing down a loud rattle in my 66 Ford p/u without much sucsess fixing every possible cause except for the one I was looking for and then found out most of the front sheet metal bolts were loose. I had the complete front end off doing body work and when it went back togather I forgot to go over and tighten all the bolts after I got it aligned up.

I do not think my dad even noticed the different colors and he never noticed the pass quarter had been repainted probably from transit damage,I had the car on stands to reseal the trans and as I was getting out from under it I noticed paint on the bottom of the quarter panel moldings.
-
Looking at the trans does it look like its mounted to the motor on a angle.

I kept the original set covers and when I do find that other color I will take the backrests apart and put that color in,it would only take me a couple hours to switch the material but the hard part will be finding it. I needed that seat done for another trip to Daytona,15 hours driving with springs poking me in the back and no foam left on the cushion was just too much since I had done it 3 times and did not want to do it again.

When I rebuilt my 37 Chevy p/u I thought I was stepping up with going with a car starter and using the ignition switch, kind of missed the foot stomp starter and when the starter needed rebuilding I put a rebuilt correct foot stomp starter back on. I had a 55 Dodge truck with a 6 cylinder that still had the foot stomp starter.

I never knew they had the other building north of town,as for that Imperial I think there was a Chrysler Imperial there and seen one on a trailer heading towards the museum right after the fire.
-
Is it the slant pan version or regular pan, does it have a Olds motor too.
-
I never was politically correct.

I hung around with a slightly older group of people and unfortunately alot have passed away over the years, most of my friends that are the same age are not into old cars like I am and can not get any to go to shows any more.
-
I was hoping to find more people with similar cars but did not as I know my 55 is not the only one to come out of that plant that way,I am slowly redoing the interior and could not find any samples of that fourth color so its going back to the way its supposed to be but keeping all the old material. With the color substitution it would seem mine was the last made in that color of interior but I heard they made cars for around 10 more days before change over to 56s,with that many days of production after mine was built one would think there should be a few more but those cars probably are not on the road any more and no one paid any attention to them. I will probably never show it where it will be judged but curious on what would happen to those late cars with next years parts if one was to be judged.

It seems like everyone I used to go to shows with are dead now so time to make new friends.

I have a 1955 Ford convertible my dad bought new that came from the factory kind of messed up,it was built august 9th 1955 and has a 56 Body shell (yes its slightly different then a 55) along with 56 door seals and 56 padded sunvisors plus a 4th color in the interior (supposed to be three) where it looks like it they ran out of the one color and substituted another. I was wondering if any of the factory mistakes would even be noticed if it was judged.

55/56 Buick parts should be similar
