  1. I would think that if it was simply to secure a bumper strip, there would not be such a strange pattern of holes...1-3-2-3-1. Also, I would expect holes on the other end. I would think it was some lettering naming the model. It would be a fun exercise to query the community and ask what year and Make FIRST created bumper strips on the side chrome. I am recalling that it was the 1961 full size Mercury.
  2. I have two pieces of this trim with 10 holes near one end. It is 54" long and has a pattern of holes...1-3-2-3-1. I appreciate any tips.
  3. I have this pair of , I am told, 1966 Lincoln Continental horn buttons. The numbers on the underside appear to be 31768 C6VA 3D758 Back in the 80s I saw a 66 Coupe in a junkyard and was able to strip it. I'll take $50 for the pair...free shipping to continental US. Have not yet posted on ebay so if interested, send me a msg. ThePackardMan@gmail.com I also have the sun visors, a grille, hood, stainless trim on top of front fenders. and a radio. Let me know your interests.
  4. Upteen years ago I saw a 1966 Linc in a junkyard. I was able to strip whatever I could take. Unfortunately I didn't hae an engine hoist! I did get a lot of stuff and still have some but not sure if these came from the car. If you have a book to identify part numbers I would appreciate knowing if these came from the car...IF NOT...WHAT? Casting logo is Ford.
  5. I guess I need to have that cataract surgery my doc recommended!!!!! Thanks for the correction. Let's see.....I went from a '63 Ford sedan to a '67 Mercury wagon....
  6. Thanks for the prompt response. I wonder where I ever got it. I never had a 60s Ford truck.
  7. I have th.is key and lock but do not know what it came from. I seem to think that it is a Ford product. What do YOU think? The spring is fine, but I don't know if the shaft is supposed to have that shape. Certainly someone out there is looking for one, but I need to know how to describe it. Any help is appreciated.
  8. Many thanks, Mark, that's a dead ringer! I am a bit surprised that my searches for R/B Peak did not show up a dozen race car images. Perhaps he was a friend of a Chrysler Exec who was involved with the race?!?!?! The rest of the story..... I acquired these two from cousin in Detroit who owned a graphic arts company and had done other work for the Indy 500. Bob
  9. Thanks for the response. I have not been able to find any works by R. Peak with his signature to compare with the items I have....but still looking.
  10. I have these two intriguing posters that were designed for the 1971 Indy 500 and commissioned by Chrysler Corp. One of them is a proof as you can see by the color codes on the top. One is titled 'The Race' and the other is 'The Winner's Circle'. I cannot decipher the artist's name and would like to discover if he/she has executed any other automotive works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking at this post. Bob
  11. I understand these are from a 1937 Plymouth. Please correct me if I am wrong... Will take $40 for the pair + shipping.
  12. I h.ave this really nice showroom catalog '1983 Cadillac Exterior Selections' 'which is about 15 x 11". It has large samples that you can see and feel. $100 plus hipping from 77406.
  13. The steering wheel controls and window crank are earlier than our Third Series (1925) models. Gear shifter and plate look the same as our two Thirds. Distributor housing looks the same, but I have not had a chance to check any of the casting numbers.
  14. Many thanks for the prompt response! Bob
  15. What year/model of Chrysler used the flexbeam right headlight lens 13890?
  16. Scott, did you ever solve your drum problem? I ask because I have two old drums that I have no idea what they belong to. Do you have a pic of yours? Have not seen them in several months, but I recall they have 7 holes.
  17. Just found this posting.... Did you get what you were looking for? Perhaps I can help with some pics....we have a 1003 with orig 8,743 miles and PERFECT interior. Also some parts from a 1015 parts car.
  18. This spear is 47.75" long with a point on one end and the other end is closed. I suspect it is for a rear fender because the closed end is not tapered for a front door to open. I guarantee this is NOS...it still has some of the flimsy brown paper wrapping that Packard used. I acquired this piece and 50 others from the widow of a Packard dealer. Make me a reasonable offer!
  19. This is an NOS piece of trim that I recall seeing on a '51 200 at Salado several years ago. It is 15.75" long. One end is closed and tapered for door clearance; the other end is open. I suppose there was a short spear covering the end. This unit has no dings, but does have fine scratches from 69 years of shelf shuffling. (A few other pieces of period trim that I have show remnants of cheap brown paper covers. Undoubtedly, Packard never anticipated usage 69 years later. Heck, Packard had not even been in business 69 years.) $30 + shipping. P.S. This trim might fit other models. Packard rarely put part numbers on the trim, so I could only compare to what I saw on show cars.
  20. I can't speak for 1942 models, but I have corporate documentation stating that the 1937 Super Eight and Twelve sedan models could be ordered with the Formal Division. Back around 1966 I saw a Super Eight with the division and there exists a Twelve in Houston with the division. (Has anyone checked Jim Hollingsworth's book on the 1940s to see if he treats the topic?)
  21. Back in Jan 2017 I posted a crank that no one could identify....so I will try to link it here for your enjoyment....
  22. Thanks...I have contacted them and am waiting for a reply.
  23. The PAC Directory lists this car as belonging to a Peter P____ in Eureka, CA. Unfortunately, both phone numbers are disconnected. I have sent a letter to the listed address but have not received an answer. Has anyone seen this car? know of its whereabouts? Have a picture of it? I am trying to put finishing touches to my forthcoming book on the 1937 Seniors, including pictures of all custom bodies and would love to have it included. Any help in tracking it down would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Going through deceased uncle's slides I found this one....towing a dump rake on my grandfather's farm. When I was about 12 I raked the hay fields on a dump rake...but behind two horses. Hopefully someone can positively identify the car. Thanks for looking...
