  1. If a ding in steel or a pit in pot metal is filled with JB Weld or sokder (or similar material), will triple plating adhere?
  2. We also have an original 8,756 mile 1500. Make sure you get 60" material for the headliner and the seams should be BLIND STITCHED.
  3. Just thought I would post this as an informational item. Back in the 1960s I was driving through the back roads of Virginia and stopped at a General Store. I asked the owner if he had any old car parts. We went upstairs and found this Tillotson carb in the box. There were also high button shoes on the shelves and a pine box coffin standing in the corner. I know there are a lot of Model As on the road using the Tillotson, but I have often wondered how many Tillotson boxes have survived.
  4. Many thanks for the replies and the pic. I really appreciate the input. Bob
  5. I have this RIGHT Flexbeam Veed headlight lens that I am trying to identify. I have communicated with Packard experts and they say it was not used on the 1930s Packards. Certainly it must have been used on a large car...having embossed 'RIGHT' in the top. Thanks for looking at this listing...
  6. Last week our amp meter got fried when a wire shorted. I'm sure that Packard did not make the meter, so it was probably used in other applications. If you have a spare that looks like this, please respond. Thanks for looking at the listing.
  7. Not sure I can help with the bushings, but have lots of other '37 Super stuff... Send me a list to ThePackardMan@gmail.com
  8. I am looking for a usable cam shaft for our Packard. It is part #132354 and was used on the 326,333, 426, and 433. Please look in your inventory and tell me that you have one! Thanks for checking my post. Bob
  9. Great idea! I'll soak the handle screw and see what is under the plate. If I am successful, I'll post a pic.
  10. Thanks for all the replies.... No...I would not sell it. It is a great conversation piece in our eclectic car parlor/museum. I always imagined that it was designed to wobble the window up to avoid jamming in the channel.
  11. Years ago I found this window crank in a swap meet. It looked interesting so I bought it and asked everyone who came to our shop, but no one had see the likes of it. Can any viewer identify it? Maybe the crank and escutcheon will help. Thanks for looking. Bob
  12. I would appreciate if someone would explain Class 19....what is meant by 'specifically named'. Is Packard and Cadillac the specific names, or is it referring to LeBaron, Holbrook, etc. as the specific names. I do not see a classification for custom bodied cars.
  13. Looks like it had not been used much....the peak on the tires is not worn down.
  14. OK, here's the skivvy... Overall length....32.5" outside width....9.5" inside width....7.25" inside length....21" wheels....6" nuts on axle....5/8" axle diameter..... .421" hard rubber tires...... Any other specs????let me know and I will get them. Thanks for looking
  15. Thanks for all the comments. Tomorrow (May 22) I will get more pics and dimensions of the 'whatever'.
  16. I have this 'wheel dolly'? that is stamped CELLO....East Boston, Mass. on the hinged black ramp. The hole in the front suggests it had a handle of some sort. Does anyone have a clue as it its original purpose????
  17. Good point... In Rosenberg, TX, which is 12 miles south of us, there is a two story antique shop that has a hand operated (rope pull) elevator. Model T's were brought by rail in crates, assembled upstairs, and the finished car lowered down to the showroom front window. ...so I guess my plate was probably used on a Ford or Chevy....Shucks! with the yellow and black, I thought FOR SURE it had been on a Mercer Raceabout! I appreciate all the comments that were posted.
  18. Thanks for the info. I saw a very similar one on the internet, but the apostrophe was missing from the MFR'S. On the back is a stamp of the company that made all the NJ plates that I have.
  19. Thanks for the response and info. Were there any other manufacturers in NJ in 1910???? Here are the other plates that I found...
  20. In the early 70s I had a farm in the village of Tranquility, NJ. One day while scouring the farm dump for 'treasures' i found this plate. (I also found 5 other NJ plates from 1912-1915.) I assume that it was a Mercer plate because of the color and the proximity to Trenton. Are any other 'MFR's CAR' plates known to exist?...or factory photos with similar plates? How it ended up on the farm is a great puzzle. A neighbor, Cecil Dennis, had grown up on the farm and never spoke of a speedster.
  21. Many thanks!!!!!...and you are most probably right.... ...and I should have thought of that because a couple years ago I sold a pair of sharks teeth that I was told came from a '55 DeSoto! I really appreciate the input. Have a Great Day! Bob
  22. OK...I have this bumper guard that appears to be in the '50s era. It has the hole for a license plate light. I believe it to be NOS because the back has no dirt.... I'd like to find someone who Needs this choice item, but I don't know how to describe it. I don't even know if the picture should be upside down?!?!?! any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.....
