  3. I need to speak with someone who has a 1930 Cadillac or LaSalle Roadster or Touring with the fold down windshield. If you own such a car or know someone you could refer me to, please get in touch or post in this forum. I need a measurement and or a picture of two. Thanks, Alan
  4. This much I do know, the coupe has a wider door by about 2" than does a conv. coupe or roadster. Saying that, I don't think you would be happy needing to cut them down to fit. Al
  5. I know the Alvis make is a rare item here in the US but I am also a realist, some items do exist. Please look through your British stuff and see if you may have a radiator shell. Also, if you know of a tore up TA-14 sedan type, I may have some parts that could help you out. Regards, Alan
  6. Now that you have a safe idea on trailering, how about a picture or two of your car before upholstery and after.... Al
  7. Hello Steve, I also need just a copuple of parts for Trippe's to go on my 1930 LaSalle Roadster. Please drop me a note: email alsfarms@hotmail.com. I really just need one mounting bracket and a lense. Thanks, Alan
  8. Hello, I have a few of these engines with a couple being used for parts. Drop me a note, maybe I can help you with your project. Al
  9. Hello Gavin, I am not an expert on this type of engine. My guess is that it is a marine version. Could be a stationary type as it looks like a Cushman, but I will stick to a "marine" application. I hope someone can nail it down as to what make it is. Regards, Alan
  10. Hello, Does anyone know of an ALvis parts car or stalled project here in the USA. I have one incomplete project that could sure use some help. Regards, Alan
  11. Could you provide me with a few clear digital images that show the pivot and clamping hardware for the fold down style windshield? Your help is appreciated. Regards, Alan
  12. Hello, I am in the process of duplicating the pivot and clamping hardware for the 1930 fold down style windshield. If you have such a car or know of someone that does have one please drop me a note. I would like to get several good clear digital photos of these items to help me make the best quality duplicates I can. My email address is alsfarms@hotmail.com Your help is much appreciated. Regards, Alan
  13. Hello, I am duplicating the pivot and clamping hardware for the 1930 style fold down windshield. If you have a complete, intact or restored roadster or touring, would you please take a few good clear pictures that show the lower pivot and upper clamping hardware? Your help is much appreciated. Regards, Alan
  14. This is an interesting line of chat regarding early Packard stuff. I noticed some farmer did a nice job of installing an "F" series Farmall tractor radiator in front of the stock rad. on your chassis. You did catch my attention when you mentioned a line on an early Alvis roadster. I am working towards a TA series Alvis DHC and would like to network with other owners. They seem to be a very quiet bunch. Drop a pic. of the Alvis if you can. Regards, Alan
  15. Hello Greg, I tried once to send you a private message but it bounced back. I will try again. Alan
  16. I am looking for a couple of aluminum body panels from a Singer 4AD roadster. Does anyone have some tore up parts cars laying in the weed patch out back? I could use a left rear quarter panel and the panel that is below the rear deck lid. Needing some repair OK. Look around please or refer me to someone who may have parts. Alan
  17. Hello Greg, I scanned through my Locomobile papers and from your number 6045 am able to guess that this car is a late 1912 or released in 1913 as a carry over vehicle. Your number actually overlaps with the Model 38 6 cylinder models. Of course that is assuming that the number given is correct. I liked your second picture of a Model 30 Touring, modified to serve as a stage delivery car. I have the remains of a windshield very similar to the one on the delivery car. I can't tell for sure, but the windshield appears to be a wooden framed variety. A big "year" indicator of the car in your first picture and also the second being touring cars is the "wrap around" front fender style. The toy tonneau and torpedo styles used a more swept back design. Your other pics. tend to make a fellow day dream! Thanks for posting them! Regards, Alan
  18. Hello Pete, Thanks for your reply. What model DHC is your TA 14, Carbodies or Tickford? I will drop you a message to your email address and pose a few questions. Thanks again for your consideration and response to my request for Alvis TA 14 parts needed. Regards, Alan
  19. Tom, I have my fingers crossed for you also. If you have a miracle and find a set of narrow automobile rims that fit your 24" truck wheels, spread the word. I would sure like that information also. Any new progress on your blue baby? Alan
  20. Tom, You may encounter some fit problems between a "truck" size wheel and an "automobile" wheel. The differences will be reflected in the type of rim that fits each. Is it your intent to build new wheels with the narrow foot print of an automobile that will accept the narrow rim design? If not, you may be better off determining an area of your rim that could be removed and use what you have, in narrowed form. Yes, it would take some work and effort but your rims would still fit your wheel. This is just my take as I have evaluated a very similar issue on one of my projects. Regards From Utah, Alan
  21. This is a fair and really a typical question asked by many across the collector car hobby. Why doesn't my make have the prestege of another make. I like 1931 Pierce-Arrows, which are actually better cars than the 1931 Cadillacs, but the Cad's out sell them hands down. Same thing between a 1957 Chev. and a 1957 Ford. We all can relate with the Cadillac and 1957 Chev. so that is what we want and BINGO, supply and demand, up goes the price and written hype. I also enjoy a TRUE Classis British make, the Alvis. This one also tends to be really under rated at the glory of more well known types. I guess the bright side is I can afford a Pierc-Arrow and also an Alvis, with just as much fun, and still be very competative on the road. This is just my two cents......horrah Triumph. Al
  22. Hello, Should you confirm the switch type you need, I do have one that is very close to the Bosch style in the picture. How far along is your Locomobile? They are great driving cars! Regards, Alan alsfarms@hotmail.com
  23. Hi Kean, With not other measurements or info. I venture a suggestion that it could be a 1927-29 LaSalle roadster. A friend of mine has a 1929 LaSalle Roadster with very similar lines. Regards, Alan (UT)
  24. Thanks for your response. My project does not have any of the rear widow frame to serve as a pattern. What is the dimension of your MG DHC rear window? Also, if you have a good rear view picture of your car it would help me determine if the size would work for my Alvis TA DHC. I await your response. Regards from the West, Al
  25. You are right about thinking it is Dodge Bros. This body is an early 22 or earlier. Can't see the doors, that would help determine.... Al
